Williams Chemical Injection Pumps
What is a chemical injection pump?
A chemical injection pump doses a controlled amount of chemical into a process or pipeline. The pump must be selected based on both the desired dosage and the pressure it will be working against.
The Williams series covers a variety of needs—from very small injection volumes at high pressure to diaphragm solutions, electric drive, and DC drive in locations with limited power access.
Typical applications include the dosing of corrosion inhibitors, biocides, methanol, and chemicals for water and process treatment. Which series is suitable depends on the specific application.
When selecting an instrument, you should consider, among other things, the parameter to be measured, the expected measurement range, the composition of the medium, temperature, installation conditions, and the need for signals or system integration.

Vmac™- series
Electrically driven piston pump for chemical injection. The VMAC Model D may be a suitable option when electric operation is desired as an alternative to gas- or air-powered injection. The model and configuration are selected based on the required dosage and pressure.
V- series
Compact pneumatic piston pumps for chemical injection at low dosing rates and high pressure. Some models are designed for microinjection. The final choice depends on the required flow rate, pressure, chemical, and material selection.
W- series
Pneumatic pumps with a packed piston for chemical injection where larger dosing volumes are required than in typical microinjection applications. The appropriate model is selected based on the required volume, outlet pressure, chemical, and operating conditions.
SCIP
DC-powered chemical injection pump for 12 or 24 VDC. It may be suitable for remote installations or other locations where the available power supply is limited. Capacity and configuration must be selected based on the application.
CLD-series
Pneumatic diaphragm metering pump for chemical dosing at lower pressures. The diaphragm separates the liquid chamber from the air chamber. The appropriate model is selected based on the chemical, the required dosing volume, and operating conditions.
WILROY
Pneumatically and hydraulically actuated diaphragm metering pump for chemical injection, in which the process medium is isolated from the actuation side by a diaphragm. Suitable for high-pressure applications when the correct material and diaphragm design are selected.

What needs to be clarified before selecting a pump?
- Chemical and concentration
- Temperature and other relevant process conditions
- Desired dosing rate
- Discharge pressure / back pressure
- Required control range
- Materials in contact with the chemical
- Available energy source: air/gas, electric, or DC
- Need for diaphragm-based process isolation
- Requirements for hazardous areas and necessary documentation/approval
- Continuous or intermittent operation
- Need for local or remote control
The more complete the available process data, the easier it is to select the right Williams series and the correct configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions About Water Analysis and Sensors
Both are Williams piston pumps, but they cover different ranges of flow rates and pressures. The V Series is particularly suitable for low flow rates and high pressure, while the W Series is used when higher flow rates are required. The correct model must be selected based on actual operating conditions.
The choice depends, among other things, on the chemical, the required dosage and pressure, material compatibility, and the requirements for isolating the process fluid. Diaphragm pumps such as the WILROY and CLD models separate the process fluid from the drive side with a diaphragm. Piston pumps such as the V and W series use a different fluid end and sealing solution.
Specify the chemical and its concentration, temperature, desired dosage, outlet pressure or back pressure, available energy source, and any requirements regarding materials, controls, or approvals.
It depends on the available energy source, installation location, and operating requirements. The Williams portfolio includes pneumatic series, the electric VMAC Model D, and SCIP for 12/24 VDC.
It depends on the specific model, configuration, and required approvals. Requirements for the classified area must be specified before the final pump and accessories are selected.
It depends on the pump selected, the materials that come into contact with the chemical, the concentration, and the temperature. Material compatibility must therefore be verified for the specific application.
