Measuring principle
A fluid flowing at a certain speed and passing a fixed obstacle generates vortices. The generation of eddies is known as Karman's eddies. The frequency of vortex shedding is a direct linear function of fluid velocity and frequency depends on the shape and face width of the bluff body. Since the width of the obstacle and the inner diameter of the pipe will be more or less constant, the frequency is given by the expression:
